***specials#

Description#

The command ***specials allows one to specify certain special boundary conditions. Currently, the command may only be used to declare mesh conditions which exist in the mesh, and is thus could be thought of as a “mesh modifier”.

Syntax#

***specials [ **mesh ] [ *specify ]

**mesh

is used to specify special conditions which exist in the mesh.

**specify

Introduces the specified parameters to the mesh. The only option currently available for this command is X0_Y0_for_E2_5 which fixes the origin of moments applied to 2.5D elements (generalized plane strain). The moments are applied throughout the thickness of an elset. The syntax requires an element set name follow the keyword, and also real values for the center on the axes \(1\) and \(2\). This option is associated to the BC command **impose_elset_dof.

Example#

***specials
 **mesh
  *specify X0_Y0_for_E2_5 eprouvette 1. 1.
