**randomize

Description

This command superimposes a random displacement to nodal positions. Such a modification may be useful to model geometric imperfections.

Syntax

**randomize \(~\,\) *magnitude mag \(~\,\) [ *nset nset1  … nsetN ] \(~\,\) [ *elset elset1  … elsetN ]

*magnitude

enter the distance (real value) which is the maximum magnitude of the displacement. The random displacement is applied with randomized direction in the order of space the node is given in.

*nset

apply the random alteration to the given node sets.

*elset

apply the random alteration to the nodes used in the elements contained in the given element sets.
